Thanks for sharing your perspective on alot of basic topics. I really enjoyed it. I grew up in southern Texas and we used to go 50 miles off shore in an 18 foot open bow when I was quite young. Since then my wife and I have been living in Kansas City but we have been thinking about a boat that could get us around the islands down there and explore, fish, etc. I found this helpful!

Aaron Morrow says:

$20,000 engine?  Damn!

Brian, how often do you use your downriggers? I’m a huge fan of your channel on here. Someday my family and I will move down that way! Until then, we’re stuck fishing for striper and muskie on Lake Cumberland and Cave Run Lake in KY.

Heman Persaud says:

Like your show. thanks.

Chris Drake says:

Thanks for the video Brian. I agree with you on the bot advice, go with what fits you and your budget. bigger is not better.
I have a Wellcraft 24 walk around and its perfect for the Fire Island Inlet and great south bay. I have also been to Moriches inlet many times.
Keep up the great videos.

Love it………..I’m still rocking my old 1984 21′ Proline…..walkaround cuddy……130 Honda……up here in Daytona……the boat has been wonderful and the engine bullet proof !! The boat was given to me in 95’…….was a mess and I rebuilt the entire thing…..wiring….stainless…..t-top…..instruments…..engine………so now I know every single thing about the boat and can service it all myself……including the engine !!!

Richard Winesburg says:

Big fan! Enjoy your channel. I fish a lot of mountain reservoirs and we always wear life jackets. I notice on a lot of salt water boats no one seems to be wearing life jackets. Any reason why?

Todd Hoffmaster says:

Great information Brian… Thank you for not doing your solo videos in a bikini. Lol

Shawn Hall says:

Roy Schwartz says:

Thanks for sharing more information on your gear. It was great to see you run through the boat and accessories
I am a 23cc owner fishing up on the Chesapeake and offshore trips in the Carolinas. I often second-guessed having a single engine and appreciate your sentiment on that.

Brenda Walker says:

Great info. Thanks for sharing

fred murray says:

“use your head and turn the damn boat around”
I love it! Commons sense isn’t so common anymore.

Bobby Baldeagle says:

Years ago I saw a sign in my barber’s shop, hung right under a picture of his sailing yacht…
The sign read, “A boat is a hole in the middle of the water that you throw all your money into”…
He said that he got to enjoy that boat for 3 weeks a year. the rest of the time he was bissy making the money to keep it…LOL.
He was an awesome guy and barber. It was just a bit to sad that he never got to retire and sail around the world like he had dreamed…

Bob Scott says:

Brian off the charts great …Bob in Canada

Jacob Melton says:

Just sayin, evinrude is better (not trying to be rude)
